The tag: the only part that moves.
Everything else in a mesh is fixed to the building. The tag goes wherever the thing it is attached to goes, and tells the mesh it is there.
- EYE Beacon Mesh (MTSID1)
- EYE Sensor Mesh (MTSMP1)
- Battery-powered
- No SIM card, no wiring
Two tags.
EYE Beacon Mesh
The standard tag. It announces itself to the mesh, and the anchors that hear it give the platform what it needs to place it. Use it on anything whose position is the whole question: a pallet, a trolley, a tool, a person.
EYE Sensor Mesh
The same tag with sensors in it. Alongside its position it reports temperature and humidity, so it suits chilled stock and cold rooms, where the reading matters as much as the place.
What a tag is attached to.
In the platform each tag is registered against the thing that carries it and given that thing's name and kind. From then on nobody looks for a tag number: they look for Pallet 8 or the red pallet jack.
- People, with a badge
- Stock on pallets, in cages or in roll containers
- Handling equipment and tools
- Cold stock, with a sensor tag
Choosing between them.
Use the beacon unless temperature matters. Most sites are almost entirely beacons, with a few sensor tags where something has to be kept cold.
A sensor tag can also be left in one place on purpose. Fixed inside a freezer it becomes a thermometer that happens to know which room it is in, and a rule in the platform raises an alert when its reading leaves the range you set.
