Hardware questions.

What installers and their clients ask about the devices.

The devices.

What is the difference between EYE Beacon Mesh and EYE Sensor Mesh?

Both are tags that the mesh locates. The EYE Sensor Mesh also measures temperature and humidity and reports them with its position.

How is a Mesh Anchor powered?

By four AA batteries. It needs no mains power and no data cable.

What does the gateway need from the site?

Power and a connection to the site's Wi-Fi.

Do tags or anchors need SIM cards?

No. Only the gateway connects to the internet, and it does so over Wi-Fi.

The site.

How many anchors do I need?

It depends on the floor: its size, its shape and what stands on it. We work the number out from the floor plans when you enquire.

How many gateways?

From one for a site. The mesh relays messages across the building to it.

Can a site be extended later?

Yes. Anchors are added to the existing mesh, marked on the plan and surveyed.

Does the hardware work without the platform?

The devices form a mesh on their own, but it is the platform that turns what they hear into positions, history and alerts.

Buying.

Can I buy the hardware here?

Hardware is supplied on enquiry, for a site. Tell us about the site and we reply with what it needs.

Is this the same EYE beacon used on vehicles?

No. The EYE beacons and sensors used with vehicle trackers are Bluetooth devices. The mesh tags described here belong to Teltonika's Wirepas Mesh range.

Enquire about mesh hardware for a first site.

Send us the floor plans, or the size of each floor and what stands on it. We reply with the tags, anchors and gateway it takes, and the platform they report to.
